Sequoyah High School is a school of excellence for Native American students in grades 9-12. It is operated by the Cherokee Nation and funded by the Bureau of Indian Education. Students from federally recognized tribes apply as freshmen, and can pursue a wide array of courses and electives, including in robotics, the Cherokee language, and award-winning drama club. Sequoyah is also home to state champion Class 3A basketball, fast-pitch softball, powerlifting, girls’ and boys’ cross country and basketball.
